Candidate Specifications
Degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent and/or considerable practical experience in power station engineering
An awareness of the commercial aspect of a power generation business is also desirable.
Experience of large combustion rotating plant, familiar with quality assurance, planning, finance, design and commissioning as applied to projects.
Experience of front end development engineering in the power generation industry with the ability to demonstrate a track record in engineering design to projects leading to successful procurement, construction and commissioning.
Experience of recruiting and building a team/department, fit for purpose with continued development of staff training.
Basic knowledge of CAD is required.
Able to demonstrate a strong knowledge of the various equipments that constitute a Thermal Power plant and also display good understanding of their inter-relationship in order to meet the customers required performance.

Our client is a key gas operator with large reserves mainly in the North Sea. They are now starting to develop some of these reserves and are undertaking activities to develop pipelines to land the gas in Germany and UK. This position is a senior role in the Upstream process and flow assurance team through the project s FEED and detailed design phases, CPDEP phase 3-4, with eventual technical support during phase 4 execution. Therefore the ideal candidate will need to have a proven track record in FEED and detailed design phase of large Greenfield project.
Your main accountabilities and responsibilities include:
Contribute as a senior member of the project Upstream s process team: team responsibilities include design assurance of the Facilities process design of the project platform from the inlet of the platform to the export trunkline Individual remit / accountability includes: all aspects of platform s process design, including technical guidance on separation, compression, dehydration, flare and utility design
Ensure an optimum, fit-for-purpose process design meeting all functional requirements for safety, environment, operability, maintainability, regulatory / permitting, etc, during FEED and detailed design
Review Facilities process deliverables, ensuring they are of consistently high quality recommendations are technically sound and cost effective.
Play a senior role in guiding the process activities of the FEED and Detail Design contractors
Ensure the delivery of quality engineering documents to meet the project schedule and cost estimate.
Maintain positive and effective working relationship with peers in other Facility disciplines and, when required, with peers in other project work teams, including Subsurface, Operations, and Technical Services
Manage change of Facility design during detailed design
Play a major role in the design assurance as part of the Facilities team to ensure successful phase gate Peer Review outcomes
Engage internal experts and external consultants as required to assure the process design
Attend VIPs and audit reviews, including HAZID, HAZOP and SIL assessments this may require occasional travel to overseas work centres in Asia and America
Seek out and apply best practices and lessons learned from other projects.
Provide support to other senior members of the process team, whose remits / accountabilities include flow assurance, fluid characterization, flow assurance, upstream and downstream interfaces, reliability / availability/ maintainability modeling, environmental permitting, and development of fit-for-purpose Basis of Design, specifications and standards

Lead Structural Engineer required for major Contractor based in West London. Role is to Lead Strucrural Group for major FPSO FEED verification and detailed design.
The FPSO consists of approximately 22,500 tonnes of topsides on top of a 29,000 tonnes hull. The topsides facilities are capable of producing 100,000 barrels of oil per day and comprise of process, utilities and quarters areas. The LQ has accommodation for 120 people and incorporates a helideck. There are also two 55 tonnes SWL cranes and a flare tower together with a 3-storey blast wall that separates the process and utility areas. The FPSO has a diameter of 107m at the process deck and the height from the bottom of the hull to the helideck is 75m. The field is north of the Arctic Circle so snow, ice and thermal loads will be an important part of the design and the topsides will be fully winterised. The design temperature ranges from -20 to +25 C. All design will be performed in accordance with the NPD rules and NORSOK codes. Location: London, U.K.
